How do I block messages or spam calls?

Are you receiving too many spam calls and messages? There are multiple solutions we have for you.

While Jethro Mobile doesn't offer a built-in feature for blocking calls or messages, there are steps you can take to prevent unwanted communications:

1. Consider Changing Your Number: Since phone numbers are recycled, previous owners of your number may be the source of spam calls. Changing your number is a more drastic measure, but can be effective.
2. Register with the Do Not Call List: The US government maintains a "Do Not Call" list to prevent unwanted telemarketing calls. You can register your number by:
   1. Calling 1-888-382-1222 (voice) or 1-866-290-4236 (TTY) from the number you wish to register.
   2. Registering online at donotcall.gov.
      
      Registering with the "Do Not Call" list and changing your number are the primary methods for blocking spam on Jethro's SC490 with Jethro Mobile.
3. Install Spam Detection Apps: You can also block spam by installing apps on your phone that detect and block spam calls.

For iPhone:

• Install a suitable application
• Go to Settings > Phone.
• Tap Call Blocking & Identification.
• Turn on or off the app under "Allow These Apps To Block Calls and Provide Caller ID."
• Additionally, you can silence unknown callers by going to Settings > Phone, scrolling down, tapping Silence Unknown Callers, and turning on the feature.

For Androids:

• Manual blocking: Open the Phone app, long-press the number you want to block, and tap Block.
• Install spam detection apps to automatically block these calls.

By following these steps, you can effectively block messages or spam calls on your device.
